It happens far too often that a client could have avoided the cost and stress of litigation had the client chosen to employ the services of a competent attorney before entering into the transaction that is now the subject of dispute. Nowhere is this more evident than in business litigation. In many cases, the entire dispute could have been avoided by spending a relatively small amount of money to hire an attorney before entering into the transaction. Even where the parties in a transaction are quite sophisticated in regard to their businesses, they may not have a sense of the legal issues that could be involved and cause problems later. So at the very least, speak with an attorney before entering into any transaction of consequence.
